Election day rules.

When is election day?
Saturday 20 September.

What hours can you vote on election day?
9.00am and 7.00pm

What date does this year’s election officially end?
4th oct

Why is there a gap between election day and when the election ends?
So that party's can make coalitions to get over 50% and became government.

Summarise each of these rules for election day in your own words.

Hoardings
You have to take down all of your advertising signs or covered them up before election day.

Sign-written vehicles
Cover up or put away party advertising from public view.

Fixed signage on party headquarters and MP’s electorate offices
You can leave a sign up on your office.

Delivery of election material prohibited
politicians cant send a letter that arrives and elections day.

Websites and social media
keep what you had before election but no posts.

Processions and demonstrations
No protesting before 7:00am not allowed to use a microphone to influence.

Streamers, rosettes, ribbons etc
You are allowed to wear it but it cant have a name on it but you can wear the colours.

Clothing promoting the party or candidate
No supporting t-shirts but you can wear colours.

Imitation ballot papers
You cant had out cards that look the same a bullet card.

Assistance to get to a voting place
They can give them a ride but they cant talk about voting on the way there.

At the voting place
no selfies.

Campaigning around advance voting places
no allowed to campaign around the voting area.
